Helen Kuhn, MS, LPCC
Helen Kuhn is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with a deep specialization in couples therapy and in supporting children, adolescents, and families through life's most challenging moments. Whether working with a couple navigating relationship strain or a young person struggling to find their footing, Helen brings a compassionate, focused presence and a highly individualized approach to every client she works with.
For couples, Helen draws on some of the most respected modalities in the field — the Gottman Method, PACT (Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy), IFIO (Intimacy from the Inside Out, rooted in Internal Family Systems), and the Developmental Model — to help partners deepen understanding, repair disconnection, and build lasting intimacy. She is also highly experienced in offering Couples Intensive Therapy Retreats for those seeking concentrated, immersive work.
With children, adolescents, and families, Helen brings specialized training and genuine attunement to the unique developmental and emotional needs of younger clients. She addresses a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, self-esteem, and relationship challenges — always within a therapeutic space that feels safe, nonjudgmental, and tailored to the individual.
Helen holds a Master's degree in Child Development and Mental Health from San Diego State University and completed her clinical training at the Center for Couples Therapy in La Jolla, as well as through a specialized program serving children and adolescents in the San Diego Unified School District. She integrates evidence-based techniques with mindfulness-based interventions, meeting each client where they are and guiding them toward greater resilience, clarity, and connection.
