Anne Clarkin, LCSW
At the Center for Couples Therapy, my primary focus is on working with individual adults. I often see clients who are not ready for couples therapy or who are part of a couple being seen by another therapist in our practice. I find great satisfaction in collaborating with my colleagues to support both individual and relationship growth. Additionally, I work with clients seeking individual therapy for issues that are not primarily relational.
I am particularly effective in helping clients navigate life transitions, parenting challenges, family relationships, depression, and anxiety. With decades of experience as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I bring a broad perspective to understanding the larger context of my clients' lives.
My therapeutic style is comprehensive and integrative. I am trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-based Therapy, Cognitive Therapy, and psychodynamic therapy. I work collaboratively with my clients, often using skills coaching and behavioral interventions to help them achieve desired changes in their lives.
My work with private clients is enriched by my experience in various treatment settings, including managing inpatient hospital programs, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs. I have treated a range of psychiatric diagnoses, including eating disorders and substance abuse, working with both adolescent and adult clients.
Outside of my professional life, I am passionate about travel, current events, popular culture, and long-term friendships. I cherish my delightful husband, three adult children, two adult stepchildren, and two wonderful grandchildren.
